Flashes Excel Again: Franklin Central Earns National and State Honors for Excellence and Achievement
Franklin Central High School continues to set the standard for excellence, earning national and state recognition for both academic achievement and student success beyond graduation.
We are thrilled to announce that Franklin Central High School has once again been named one of the “Best High Schools” in Indiana and the nation by U.S. News & World Report! This distinction, awarded every year since 2013, places Franklin Central in the Top 15% of Public High Schools in America, the Top 10% in Indiana, and the Top 15% in Central Indiana. Of nearly 18,000 schools evaluated nationwide and 437 in Indiana, Franklin Central stands out for its unwavering commitment to educational excellence.
In addition to this achievement, Franklin Central has been recognized as a FAFSA Completion Goal School for 2024–2025 — surpassing the State of Indiana’s FAFSA completion goal and demonstrating its dedication to preparing students for success after high school. This recognition celebrates the collaboration of students, families, and staff in ensuring that more graduates have access to the financial resources needed to pursue college and career training opportunities.
“These recognitions are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, families, and staff,” said Zak Tschiniak, Principal of Franklin Central High School. “From academic achievement to postsecondary readiness, our Flashes continue to prove what’s possible when purpose and excellence drive everything we do.”
“We are incredibly proud of Franklin Central High School for these accomplishments,” added Dr. Chase Huotari, Superintendent of Franklin Township Community School Corporation. “They reflect our shared mission of Making a Difference through Purposeful Learning and Meaningful Collaboration.”
Franklin Central’s commitment to academic rigor and student opportunity exemplifies the FTCSC vision of Igniting Purpose — empowering students to reach their fullest potential in high school and beyond.
Congratulations to our outstanding students, families, teachers, counselors, and administrators for keeping Franklin Central among the nation’s educational elite — and for proving once again why #WeAreFlashes!
About FAFSA
A common misconception about the FAFSA is that there is an income limit for financial aid. In reality, every student considering or planning to attend college should complete the FAFSA.
The application typically takes 30 minutes to one hour to complete. Families can prepare by gathering Social Security numbers, tax returns, and financial records in advance.
The FAFSA application window for the Class of 2026 opens on December 1, 2024, and closes on April 15, 2025.
