Franklin Township Community School Corporation (FTCSC) is excited to announce the launch of its new Flashes Financials webpage. This new resource is designed to help answer questions from our community about school finance and provide clear, easy-to-understand information about how school funding works.

The Flashes Financials page will feature short videos, helpful explanations, and simple graphics that break down the key components of school finance. As the page continues to grow, additional resources will be added to help families and community members better understand how schools are funded and how those funds are used to support students.
To begin, FTCSC is introducing a four-part video series titled “Flashes Finances from Fred,” featuring Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer Fred McWhorter.
In the first video, Fred provides an overview of school finance and introduces a simple way to understand the basics of school funding.
School finances can often seem confusing and complicated. Budgets, funds, and funding sources can make it difficult for community members to understand how school corporations operate financially. This video series is designed to simplify those topics and explain them in a clear and accessible way.
Fred explains that understanding FTCSC’s finances can start with a simple concept:
3 – 2 – 1

3 Main Funds the district uses to manage its budget

2 Primary Revenue Sources that fund school operations

1 Unique Situation that specifically impacts FTCSC
In upcoming videos, Fred will explore each of these topics in more detail and explain how they impact the district, our students, and the Franklin Township community.
The goal is simple: make school finances easier to understand for everyone.
Watch the first installment of Flashes Finances From Fred and explore the new Flashes Financials page to learn more about how school funding works.
